Some information about two companies in Hawaii

Your dapper

Your dapper is a company that sells menswear. At the moment they are only selling bow ties, but they plan to bring whole suits to the market as well. The founders of the company had a big interest in menswear and they wanted to create elegant and freaky clothing at the same time, so you don’t have to change between working and going out. They started their company last year. Their marketing idea is that fashion-confident people will wear the bow ties and their friends will like it and start to wear these crazy bow ties as well. The internet is the only place where you can buy your dapper menswear at the moment.

Hilo Hattie

Hilo Hattie is a retail store that sells clothing, food and souvenirs made in Hawaii. They also offer typical Hawaiian activities, not only for tourist but also for the local people. This year they celebrate their 50th anniversary. On Oahu and the outer islands, there are seven Hilo Hattie stores. In 1963 the very first Hilo Hattie store was opened by Jim Romig on a stretch of road between Lihue and Kapaa on the Island of Kauai. The sign out front read, “Kaluna Hawaii Sportswear”. The first store was the birth of an idea for a retail store that specialized in Made-in-Hawaii fashions and gifts. 1965 the first manufacturing center opened in Honolulu where the Ward Warehouse is today. It was called “Hawaiian Wear Unlimited.” At this time, the company began to sell Aloha shirts with one van and became known as home of the “$3.95 Aloha Shirt.”
